    Dear Whitesville Community,

Joy is back in our building!  Laughter is back in our hallways and cafeteria!  Even under our masks, smiles are shared around the entire school!  Thank you for sending your children back to us.  Thank you for your trust and support as we face each day knowing we are still living in pandemic conditions and doing our very best for our WCS children.

My main goal this year is to increase communication with our community.  The fastest and most consistent way to keep everyone informed is using our website.  Please check https://www.whitesvillesd.org often for what is happening at school, pictures of your children, and our weekly updates.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email me at temery@whitesvillesd.org or call me during school hours at 607.356.3301.  In Brene Brown’s words, “I am not here to be right. I am here to get it right.”  WE can get it right by having clear communication.

Safety is still our number one priority.  We continue to follow all COVID-19 guidelines and practices.  We will have our annual evacuation drill on October 7th during school hours.  Our mandatory annual “Early Go Home Drill” will be October 9th.  Students will be dismissed 15 minutes early.  Please plan student pick up accordingly.

The National Make a Difference Day is October 24.  This is a time for community members and students to join together in a community service event.  We are looking for volunteers, as well as, projects that need to be done.  Please contact the main office if you have a project.  Thank you in advance for your service and service projects!

To our Veterans, we appreciate you and our freedom every day.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

From my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

    Respectfully,

    Tammy M. Emery
