Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tracy L Smith
As a 2011 SUNY Geneseo graduate, I entered the teaching profession as my second career. My first career was in the field of Agriculture where I learned to appreciate the importance of communicating in a second language. My husband, two sons, and I live on a small farm where we raise beef cattle and dairy goats. We also have chickens and horses. I come from the Avoca Central School District, where I worked as a substitute teacher in all subjects at all grade levels.
An important part of learning another language is memorizing new vocabulary. In effort to make this task more fun and engaging for your students, I incorporate several online learning apps both during class and for homework. If your student has asked permission to bring their device in to school for Spanish class, it is true, we use them often.
If your student tells you they have no homework, current vocabulary lists are always available for them to study on Quizlet.com and they can always collect XP on the DuoLingo app or web site.
