Dear Whitesville Community,
After our February 13, 2024 Regular Board of Education meeting, I am pleased to provide an update regarding our ongoing efforts to ensure the best educational opportunities for our students. The Board has given me direction to reach out to Andover Central School to continue our tuition agreement. This decision reflects our commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students while being mindful not to overburden our current teaching staff. This means 9th and 12th grade cohorts will attend Whitesville CSD and 10th and 11th grade cohorts will remain at Andover CSD for the 2024-25 school year.
Additionally, I want to share that we will begin an Optimization Study to evaluate the current learning opportunities offered within the Whitesville CSD and provide a record of the superintendent, board of education, leadership team, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders’ views of the future of the district. The driving purpose for the optimization assessment is to cultivate insights and recommendations for consideration that support Whitesville CSD’s positioning for a sustainable and successful educational future. This review will build a five-year plan that focuses on educational quality, optimal student experiences, operational excellence, and fiscal responsibility.
