Hello Families and Community,
Please be aware that there was an accident this morning in our School parking lot. There were no injuries, all students and staff were inside the building at the time, and the accident has been taken care of.

This afternoon our two Odyssey of the Mind teams competed for an opportunity to move on to States! Teams created solutions to a problem, solving the problem through a skit, with one team using poetry and the other building a structure to sustain weight. Teams will be notified of results early next week.
Today was all about taking risks, boosting confidence, leadership, teamwork, neverending friendships and having fun! We're pretty confident that our OMers had a great day!

Our Parents as Partners cupcake decorating night was full of delicious, colorful creations! A BIG thank you to our Cooking Club members for baking all of the cupcakes!

Our Odyssey of the Mind teams have been working hard getting their scenery set for competition. A huge shout out to our OMers for coming to school the last 3 Saturdays, as they wonder, explore and grow as WCS students and OMers!

Sometimes our staff gets crazy ideas to step outside the box. This faculty meeting they decided it should be BYOC (Bring your own CHAIR) night and get comfy.
Well, most of them anyways. Mr. Rawady must have missed the memo! 💁♂️🪑

Mrs. Lowe’s 2nd grade music class began their unit on composers and musical composition this week. Their first activity focused on learning about famous classical musicians, such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. While listening to musical selections by these composers, students moved with the music and used scarves to fill the music room with color and expression!

Typically, Yearbook Club is reserved for Juniors and Seniors, but this year some of our 6th graders have happily taken on the role and have some great ideas in the works! Information will be coming out soon on pricing and how to order as they fine tune a few more details!

Ms. Sheri cut fresh dill from Nature Club's hydroponic tower to make dill dip to serve with veggies as a lunch side! Students were excited to try something new from their very own produce, and we even got a few thumbs up from our teachers! Kudos to our hard-working Nature Club!

You may be sick of the snow, but our Outdoor Education groups were able to take a spin in their snow shoes to get a new taste of exploration! They learned how the Native Americans made snow shoes from animal hides and trees and then practiced how to navigate the deep snow outside!

February is Heart Health Month ♥️ and Children's Dental Health Month 🦷🪥. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. Did you know that brushing your teeth and eating healthy foods keeps your teeth and your heart healthy too? Other things to do to keep your heart healthy are: • Keep moving. Exercise as a family; ride bikes, take a walk, go swimming, or play games outside. • Be positive. • Limit screen time. • Schedule checkups before sports season. • Keep healthy options on hand to eat. • Check salt intake. Let's be healthy together!💪🏻💙
