WCS will be celebrating Spirit Week NEXT WEEK! Monday is PJ Day, Tuesday is Red, White and Blue Day, Wednesday is Pink Day, Thursday is Teacher/Student Swap Day, and on Friday lets see who can rock the most spirit wear with Blue and Purple to support our AW Teams!

Third grade is learning about note values in music! They constructed music notes out of pipe cleaners and then created their own rhythm composition that they were able to play at the end of class!

Music is definitely in the air!! (And if you have a 5th or 6th grader, it likely will continue to be!) Students are beginning to learn how to assemble, take care of, and produce the correct sounds through their instruments today! A big shout-out to our Music teacher, Mrs. Lowe, for getting everything together for them!

Our Outdoor Education classes have been learning about nature right here in our backyard while incorporating grade appropriate academics! Mrs. Jackson has been covering every detail, including how to describe feathers and snake skin sheds with descriptive vocabulary, which the 5th and 6th grade has been working on in ELA class! She reports: "Over the next two weeks, we will be focusing on Bluejays and the importance of them within our environment....October will be focusing on acrons, Mighty Oak, and apples.... I will be bringing in a cider press the week of October 21st and 28th....As the weather starts changing, we will be trying to find our natural rhythms and location that best fits the students.... Our goal is to go up the hill every week throughout all four seasons"!

"What if...?" Ms. McCaig's Pre-k class brainstormed cause and effect situations to learn manners and appropriate behavior. What if everyone made good choices like these guys!? Way to go, PreK!!

🍁A big shout out to Mrs. Emery, for leading our Blue Jays into the first day of fall this morning! We gathered before classes to share a song together and try a special pumpkin delight with apple cider! 🍎
